Lovely swimming ladies

Any new trips, wonderings and found items tend to end up in flickr now. Please click on the image to visit my site.

Simple cover from John Steinbeck. Designed by Neil Stuart. Reprinted in 1983.

Evelyn Waugh books from 1984 and 1974 editions both designed by Bentley/Farrell/Burnett. Completely mad type and nice quirky illustration.

A nice cover pattern from a Reader's Digest book from the eighties. No credit for this design.

I found 'Hercules in New York' (1970) in a Walthamstow charity shop. 'Arnold Strong' plays a Hercules, which involves wrestling a bear in Central Park (man in a costume of course) and getting into lots of fights. Sterling support from Arnold Stang who plays 'Pretz'. Good fun

A few snaps of a few things I liked in Venice, Croatia and Ljubljana, on a recent trip. Click on image to see more.

A classic penguin cover from 1970. Design by Crosby/Fletcher/Forbes.

A Blue Peter annual from 1973, designer(s) uncredited.

A kayak book from 1973, no illustrator credited.

A Polish book on building houses, date and designer unknown.

A beautifully simple cover from Pelican (part of Penguin books). Cover by Michael Kitson, 1964.

The 1974 edition of Lolita. Unfortunately, the beautiful lettering wasn't credited.

A Hungarian book on warfare called 'Husaren'. This lovely design is printed in silver on a blue material cover. Published 1975.

An American book from 1929, educating children about the world's different cultures (in a way you'd expect from 1920s America).
